BARBERING APPRENTICESHIPS & BARBERING COURSES AT THE LHAA

Training as a barber is a highly rewarding experience; you need to be highly motivated, have great communication skills and have an interest in the image industry.
This Apprenticeship is for those interested in cutting, styling and colouring the hair of men and boys. You’ll also learn about (and be tested on) other issues related to barbering, like hygiene, disposing of chemicals and working in a team.
With men putting almost as much effort into their appearances as women these days, the demand for skilled barbers to cut and style hair is on the rise.
On this Apprenticeship, you’ll learn how to give client consultations, cut hair, trim and shape facial hair and shampoo and condition hair and scalp. You could also choose to learn how to colour hair or cut basic patterns in hair.

What do I need to join the course?

You will need to be working for a minimum of 24 hours a week in a barbers or have a barbering salon willing to employ you as an apprentice. The LHAA can support you with finding a suitable placement.

THE LHAA VISIT SOUTHAMPTON

Steiner is an innovative spa company dedicated to promoting beauty and wellness throughout the world with one unified vision: Inner peace. Since its early beginnings, Steiner has offered cruise ship jobs to over 50,000 beauty, spa and fitness professionals, giving them the opportunity to see places that others only dream about.

We had the privilege of sending some of our students and staff members to Southampton to soak up the atmosphere and beauty that one of its ships has to offer. Students felt particularly inspired by seeing the cruise ship salon for the opportunity that could potentially lay ahead once they have qualified at the LHAA. Overall both students and staff were overwhelmed with the potential the cruise ship had to offer.
