The LHAA has enjoyed huge success at this year’s Skills London event, signing up a large number of young people for our open days.
Opened by Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, on 13th November, the two-day exhibition was attended by over 45,000 visitors and gave us the chance to demonstrate the skills we teach our apprentices.
The LHAA works with over 325 salons and barber shops across Herfordshire, Middlesex, London and Essex, and are currently offering apprenticeship places to start in January, April and Summer 2016 – we currently have over 75 live vacancies.
Over the weekend, the LHAA signed up 120 people for our open days, with the view to starting our apprenticeship courses in January 2015. The main message was that we have 75 live vacancies for immediate start on our apprenticeship programmes that are a life-changing opportunity, where you can EARN WHILE YOU LEARN
and because you are on an apprenticeship you are in employment straight away.
At Skills London, the LHAA was the only specialist skill academy exhibiting, and we were by far the largest single exhibition of hairdressing and barbering. We are incredibly proud that our student Matthew Papley from the Camden Academy for his skills demonstration that was so impressive that it was included in the BBC News coverage of the event.
“Skills London is the perfect place for the LHAA to showcase what we offer our students,” says managing director Francine Luker. “We were able to reach an incredible number of young people, the interest in our open days is phenomenal, and we’re very excited by the interest in our apprenticeships. We were so delighted with how the exhibition went that we’ve already signed up to participate in Skills London 2016.”
