 All our leadership staff at the LHAA are highly trained and have years of experience in their respective fields.

Francine Luker - Director
Francine is a co-founding Director at the LHAA and has led the organisation since October 2011. After a career in sales and marketing, Francine lectured for 10 years in marketing and international trade within a Further Education College and two London Universities. She joined the Awarding Organisation Edexcel [a Pearson company] in 1999 as a Regional Curriculum Manager being promoted to National Sales Manager responsible for Employer & Apprenticeship Engagement in 2006 to 2011. Francine holds the assessor and internal verifier qualifications, D32, D33 and D34. Francine also holds a degree in business and has a post graduate Diploma in Marketing.

Trevor Luker - Director
Trevor is a co-founding Director at the LHAA and joined the company in July 2013. He is also a member of the Association of Employment & Learning Providers [AELP] Strategic Forum and Chair of the AELP’s Hair & Beauty Forum. He previously held the post of Managing Director for Pearson Work Based Learning in the UK [2010-2013] having previously held the post of Commercial Director for the Awarding Organisation Edexcel [a Pearson company 2007-2010]. He has also worked in the UK and overseas and holds a Masters in Business Management and has lectured on Business Studies.

Claire Ensor - Director of Academies
I joined the LHAA in February 2017 as Director of Academies form an extensive background in hairdressing and education.  I am a qualified hairdresser and barber but followed my passion in to teaching in 2000.  I have a passion for learning and have always strived to progress my own career through the many course I have undertaken to support my CPD and also having studied for my Level 5 Institute for Leadership & Management qualification. I am delighted to be at the LHAA as they are a company that puts the learner first and passionate about high quality education.

Sarah Power - Head of Audit & Compliance
I joined the LHAA in July 2012 as an educator as I wanted to pass on my knowledge of hairdressing to the younger up and coming generation, I am now the Lead IV and Head of Compliance Manager across the three academies.  I ensure that all learners are receiving the most up to date innovative teaching from all of the educators at the LHAA. I am extremely passionate about improving hairdressing standards within the industry and at the LHAA we strive to ensure this is happening.

Emma Smith - Academy Manager Camden and Head of Hairdressing
I have been in the hairdressing industry for the past 12 years and teaching for over 4 years and I am thoroughly enjoying my role as Academy Manager for the LHAA in Camden. After managing several salons, I discovered I am extremely passionate about passing on knowledge and practical skills in hairdressing.  Hairdressing has always been my passion; I feel extremely privileged to be able to educate the next generation of top quality stylists either thorough the Apprenticeship programme or through our adult learning programme’s.

Lynsey Baker - Head of Barbering
I joined the LHAA in 2014 as a hairdressing & barber tutor and progressed to become Head of Barbering in 2015.  I am passionate about barbering and its really taken off over the last few years and it’s so great to see so many women wanting to become a barber, its not just a career for men anymore and since its growing year on year at over 30% per annum it’s a very exciting time to become a barber.  I love my career as an educator and having both hairdressing and barbering skills has allowed me to travel the world – I really loved working as far south as Australia.

Lara Kelly – Academy Manager Borehamwood
I started my hairdressing apprenticeship  in South Africa 12 years ago. My passion for hairdressing led me towards teaching in 2013. My enthusiasm to teach has enabled me to develop personally and professionally and I now manage Borehamwood Academy. I feel privileged to work with all our learners and guide them through their learning journey and honoured to represent the LHAA.

Jackie Lee - Academy Manager Loughton
I have been in the hairdressing industry for the past 22 years and teaching for the past 8 years. My role at the LHAA is Academy Manager for Borehamwood and also Head of Teaching and Learning across all academies.  My role consists of making sure that the quality of teaching and learning is at the high standards expected at the LHAA.

Sonia Chahil – Academy Manager Chiswick
I joined the LHAA in 2015 and in September 2016 became the Academy Manager at our brand new Chiswick hairdressing & barbering academy.  I am passionate about education and have worked in the sector for over 20 years.  In this time I have worked as a senior stylist in salon as well as a salon manager.  As well as a stylist I am a qualified make-up artist and eyebrow technician and experienced in Asian bridal make-up and hair.  I have also previously managed an education academy for over 10 years specializing in hair and beauty.  I joined the LHAA because I wanted to work for the best education company in the South East in this sector and because I am passionate about helping learners of all ages become the next generation of stylist for the future.

Emma Forrester - Employer Engagement Manager Loughton
I joined the LHAA in July 2014 as an Employer Engagement Learner Liaison Manager for our LOUGHTON Academy. My background is in Advice & Guidance having worked alongside the LETEC and also working in schools as a support worker. My role at the LHAA is to develop and maintain links with employers and organise Apprenticeship placements for our learners. I have a passion to help young people develop a career that will sustain them in their lives.

Sabrina Busson - Senior Employer Engagement Manager
I joined the LHAA in May 2015 as the Student Liaison & Employment Engagement Manager at the Camden Academy. My role at the academy is to raise the profile of the LHAA by developing and maintaining links with salons and stakeholders, whilst providing support and guidance to students and apprentices to ensure they are in employment.

Tania Exell – Employer Engagement Manger Chiswick
I am passionate about the hair and beauty sector.  I am qualified as a stylist having completed my Diploma in Hairdressing, a make-up artist and also as a Beauty Therapist at Level 3.  Before joining the LHAA I spent four years working in a high street salon developing my hairdressing and make-up skills and then moved on to become a brand ambassador for Dermalogica.  I joined the LHAA in July 2016 to support learners at our Chiswick academy make progress in their lives and to pass on my experiences from the sector and provide them with the information, advice and guidance they need to succeed.

Miriam Hussain - Employer Engagement Manager Borehamwood
Miriam studied to become a lawyer at CMS Cameron McKenna and the moved to practice law at Allied Irish Bank and latterly at ABN AMBO Bank.  Miriam has always had a passion for hairdressing and finally in 2017 made the switch to working for the LHAA as Employer Engagement Manager at Borehamwood.  ‘It’s been a dream of mine to work in this vibrant creative industry. In 2016 I studied for my Level 2 hairdressing Diploma at the LHAA and now I am working towards achieving my Level 3 Diploma later this year.  Law has been great for me to develop my commercial understanding of the world of work and I am looking forward to sharing this with the salons and Apprentices we work with’.
